Derek Everett is a machine learning expert in ÎÞÓÇ´«Ã½â€™s chief technology office. As a lead scientist, he advances state-of-the-art research in machine learning security and robustness. Derek’s efforts focus on addressing adversarial robustness, out-of-distribution data, data drift, and applying machine learning to malware detection.
Before ÎÞÓÇ´«Ã½, Derek conducted research at Ohio State University on theoretical model-building and inference of high-energy, heavy ion collisions. His work contributed to JETSCAPE, a framework for modeling and uncertainty quantification of heavy ion physics.Â
Derek holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in physics from Ohio State University, as well as a B.Sc. in physics and a B.A. in mathematics from Wayne State University.
