These efforts include our long-term research on critical AI issues, the development of AI governance, AI security, and responsible AI solutions, and our investments in promising technology startups.ÌýÌý
Building on this commitment, we are excited to join many of the nation’s leading AI stakeholders in participating in a supporting the development and deployment of trustworthy and safe AI.  Established by the U.S. Commerce Department’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the will bring together AI creators and users, academics, government and industry researchers, and civil society organizations to meet this mission.

The consortium’s members—representing the nation’s largest companies, innovative startups, and the creators of the world’s most advanced AI systems and hardware—are on the frontlines of developing and using AI systems. ÎÞÓÇ´«Ã½ will initially support Working Group #3 – Capability Evaluations, Working Group #4 – AI Red-Teaming, and Working Group #5 – Safety & Security, contributing research and insight for each topic area. Collaborating with other consortium members, we hope to develop frameworks and guidance for mitigating potential risks and providing additional safeguards to allow AI to be used confidently and securely.Ìý ÌýÌý
