Summer Games Experience: Over two summers, I worked on environmental IT projects for federal clients. I met incredible individuals and discovered a passion for public sector consulting. The highlight of my experience was creating a real-world solution from the ground up with my team within a limited timeframe and feeling confident when presenting the final product to senior leadership.

Path from Intern to Employee: I expanded my professional network and learned more about ÎÞÓÇ´«Ã½ daily. I saw a future for myself here, so I actively pursued that goal. My current role supports environmental work, and I contribute to projects that make a tangible difference in the world and work with amazing people every day!

Piece of Career Advice: Always be curious. Don't hesitate to ask questions, take the lead when opportunities arise, and strive to learn something new every day.

Summer Games Experience: The Summer Games was a unique experience for me, as I was transitioning out of the U.S. Army after ten years of service and had just started graduate school. My goal was to begin a career in tech, and the Summer Games internship allowed me to get my foot in the door and ultimately secure a role as a data scientist. As an intern, I collaborated on a large predictive analytics project, which was the first time I’d done anything of that magnitude. I worked with incredible people, learned a ton, and got my hands on amazing tech.

Path from Intern to Employee: After the program, my team offered me a position as a data scientist at ÎÞÓÇ´«Ã½. I now work in our aerospace business alongside supportive teammates and use the most cutting-edge tech, which continues to grow my skillset.

Piece of Career Advice: Have a positive attitude and be open to new possibilities. Build your network and hone your technical skills. The connections you make now can open doors in a future you haven’t yet envisioned. Staying curious, seeking feedback, and being proactive will prepare you for unexpected opportunities.

Confidence Nwanguma – Data Analyst

Summer Games Experience: I contributed to a project where we worked on Spot, a robot dog manufactured by Boston Dynamics. I was responsible for programming Spot to execute autonomous functions aimed at enhancing the safety of military personnel. Along with the other interns, I was completely integrated into the team working side by side with full-time colleagues, given the resources I needed, and encouraged to use these tools to accomplish project goals.

Path from Intern to Employee: After my internship, I used the experience and network I developed to help secure a formal employment offer.

Piece of Career Advice: Continuously challenge yourself to acquire new skills and grow.
