Dr. Roman Salasznyk leads ÎÞÓÇ´«Ã½â€™s life science practice and its support across the Department of Health and Human Services. Based out of our Bethesda, Maryland, office, he is a recognized leader in the pharmaceutical development lifecycle, leading high visibility technology and cloud modernization initiatives, supporting transformational change by delivering leading-edge informatics and analytics capabilities, and integrating broad disciplines within life sciences to support federal health clients.
Roman has more than 20 years of experience in biomedical research, medical product and regulatory lifecycle development, and management and technology consulting. He manages a multidisciplinary team that supports initiatives aimed at expediting medical product approvals and scientific discoveries; fostering innovative research and strategies to improve public health; better detecting and responding to new or emerging health threats; delivering high-quality, affordable health insurance through the Marketplace; and strengthening the efficiency and effectiveness of mission-critical operations.
Before joining ÎÞÓÇ´«Ã½ in 2010, Roman managed the clinical and regulatory development of cellular therapies to treat serious medical conditions for inflammatory, orthopedic, and cardiovascular indications at Osiris Therapeutics. His work included leading the company’s biological product development under a multimillion-dollar Department of Defense contract.
Roman is a certified project management professional. He was an Aspen Spotlight Health Scholar, has authored more than 10 peer-reviewed scientific publications, and holds a U.S. patent for the preparation and delivery of cellular therapeutics.
He has a Ph.D. in biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
